Educational excursions are very important for the overall development of students. It gives them an opportunity to learn from their own experiences and from experience of others. When students and teachers are together outside the classroom new educational environments and experiences are possible. Students may have the opportunity to observe many things that are not available at college. CT College of Education organized one day trip to Harike Wetland and Bird Sanctuary on February 28, 2022. Tour was being planned and coordinated through Excursion committee. The tour comprised students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. accompanied by faculty members, Mrs. Anju Sharma, Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Mrs. Rajni Lubana. At a distance of 60 km from Amritsar Junction, Harike is one of the largest man-made wetlands of northern India, located in Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Also known as Hari-ke-pattan, Harike Wetland is a famous destination for bird watchers and also one of the best places to visit near Amritsar. Students enjoyed the major striking feature of this wetland is the Harike Lake with a bird sanctuary. Some of the popular birds and fauna found here include crested pochard, river dolphin, smooth coated otter, Indian wild boar etc. After that students relished the dinner at Amritsar Haveli. All the students enjoyed the trip.
