Department : B. Vocational

The B.Voc Beauty Therapy & Aesthetics Department organized an educational and highly informative industry visit to Orane Salon, one of the most reputed professional beauty academies and salon chains recognized for its global standards. The purpose of this visit was to provide students with in-depth exposure to chemical hair treatments, their practical application, the latest technologies, and the professional safety standards followed in modern salons. The seminar was specially designed to enhance students’ understanding beyond classroom theory and enable them to observe real-time demonstrations by industry experts.

Upon reaching Orane Salon, the students were cordially welcomed by the salon trainers and staff members. The session began with an introduction about Orane International, its journey in the beauty industry, international affiliations, and commitment to delivering world-class training. The experts explained how chemical treatments have become a major part of salon services today, with clients frequently requesting services like smoothing, straightening, keratin, hair coloring, rebonding, and other advanced chemical procedures.

The students were guided to the hair section, where a senior hair technician addressed the team and started with a detailed explanation of hair structure, porosity, elasticity, and the importance of hair analysis before any chemical service. He emphasized that proper hair consultation is the foundation of every successful chemical treatment. The trainer demonstrated how to evaluate the client’s hair condition, scalp sensitivity, previous history of chemical treatments, and contraindications that must be considered for safety.

The seminar further included step-by-step demonstrations of hair coloring techniques, including global color, highlights, lowlights, balayage, and root touch-up. The trainer explained the difference between temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent hair colors, as well as the role of developers of different volumes. Students observed how experts choose colors according to the color wheel, skin tone, hair undertone, and client preference. They learned the importance of sectioning, timing, and proper emulsification during the coloring process.

Next, the session moved on to chemical straightening and smoothing treatments. The Orane professionals demonstrated the procedure of keratin and smoothening treatments, explaining the function of keratin protein, the role of formaldehyde-free products, and the importance of following exact temperature and timing guidelines. Students observed the application techniques, ironing process, product saturation levels, and aftercare instructions required to maintain the results. The trainers emphasized client safety, explaining possible side effects, patch testing, and the necessity of using masks, gloves, and proper ventilation during chemical services.

The students also learned about hair rebonding, including breaking and reforming hair bonds, neutralizing agents, and differences between rebonding and smoothening. The trainers highlighted ethical practices, such as advising clients against frequent or overlapping chemical services that could damage their hair.

In addition to chemical treatments, the experts also discussed salon hygiene, workstation setup, product management, and professional conduct. Students observed how Orane maintains international hygiene standards by sanitizing tools, labeling products, wearing protective gear, and ensuring client comfort throughout the service. They also learned about real-time salon management, client communication, service upgradation, and teamwork within a professional environment.

An interactive Q&A session followed, where students actively cleared their doubts about hair chemistry, product brands, career opportunities, salary packages, and future scope in chemical hair technologies. The Orane trainers motivated students to continue practicing, upgrading their technical skills, and maintaining professionalism to succeed in the beauty and wellness industry.

Overall, the industry visit to Orane Salon for the Chemical Treatment Seminar proved to be a highly productive and insightful learning experience. The students gained extensive knowledge about hair chemistry, chemical services, safety protocols, and modern techniques used in professional salons. This exposure not only boosted their confidence but also strengthened their practical understanding, preparing them for successful careers as future cosmetologists and hair technicians.
