CT Group Celebrates World Photography Day with Competitions & Creative Showcases

CT Group of Institutions celebrated World Photography Day across its Shahpur and Maqsudan campuses with a vibrant mix of competitions, cultural performances, and creative showcases, highlighting the art of visual storytelling.

The events were graced by eminent personalities including Dr. Harjit Singh (Ponyland Studio) and Mr. Monu (Punjab Kesari) at Shahpur Campus, along with faculty, students, and management from both campuses.

At Shahpur Campus, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication (JMC) and Multimedia organized Photography and Reel-Making Competitions that received over 200 entries, alongside cultural performances and an award ceremony. At Maqsudan Campus, the Department of Media Studies hosted a Mobile Photography Competition, where students creatively explored themes such as Food, Nature, Buildings, Faces, and Colors.

Dr. Sangram Singh, Campus Director (Shahpur), said that photography goes beyond capturing moments—it shapes perspectives, inspires thought, and encourages self-expression. He emphasized that at CT Group, such platforms bridge academics with creativity, nurturing students’ holistic growth.

Dr. Anurag Sharma, Campus Director (Maqsudan), added that photography is a universal language that tells stories and documents realities. He expressed that the passion displayed by students through their unique themes is a reflection of CT Group’s commitment to innovation, talent, and practical learning.

The winners at Shahpur Campus were Gursewak, B.Arch 5th Sem (1st), Gurchetan, B.Voc Web Technology & Multimedia 1st Sem (2nd), and Abhishek, B.Pharm 3rd Sem CTCP (3rd) in the Photography Competition, while Inderjeet Singh, B.Sc Multimedia 1st Sem (1st) and Ujjwal, B.Voc Web Technology & Multimedia 1st Sem (2nd) emerged as winners in the Reel-Making Competition. At Maqsudan Campus, Harpreet Kaur, BCA 3rd Sem secured the first position, followed by Manav Sharma, BAJMC 1st Sem and Komalpreet, B.Voc Multimedia 1st Sem in the Mobile Photography Competition.
