National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) envisions to bring about significant reforms in higher education to cater to the changing landscape of knowledge and create global standards of education. To create awareness on the perspectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and to discuss the required regulatory reforms, faculty up gradation and student flexibility integral to effective implementation of NEP, CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar (B.Ed. & M.Ed. ) organized an Extension Lecture on ‘ National Educational Policy-2020’ on April 3, 2023. The resource person for the same will be Dr. Sushil Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema. He addressed the august assembly with excellent clarity and in depth knowledge. On the basis of his par excellence and experience, he emphasized that higher education in India needs to be facilitated by the policy makers in terms of quality and excellence. He said that to improve the higher education system we need to focus on three things that includes seeking funds, increase in faculty count and freedom to execute what universities are made for in terms of imparting quality and excellence in higher education. He also mentioned that in order to formulate the vision of NEP 2020 the universities must need to build a multi-dimension education system to provide meaningful skill set among the learners. He highlighted the importance of a holistic and integrated education system. He conveyed the primary, secondary and higher education systems complement each other in many ways, and hence there is a need to transform the institutional infrastructure and education system in terms of dissipating quality education among all. He mentioned that education does not only reside in minds but also in hearts. Overall session was knowledgeable.
