Teacher’s Day Celebration

Teacher’s Day Celebration
05 Sep 2022

Institute : CT College of Education

Teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions. A day is kept aside to remember all the teachers. This day is celebrated in commemoration of Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education and was the well-known diplomat, scholar and above all a teacher. To carry forward this tradition, CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated this occasion with much vigor and enthusiasm. A webinar was organized by CCA committee of CT College of Education for students of B.Ed. & M.Ed. on Monday, September 05, 2022.  Resource person for the same was Ms. Richa Suri, Teacher at HMV College, Jalandhar. She explained that digital teaching has increased work flexibility and has made teachers tech-savvy. On the other hand, disadvantages include, longer working hours with no break, isolation as well as health problems because of prolonged gadget use. Further, She added that in the Indian context, education’s main purpose is to prepare for a career and therefore more focus was put on examinations and practical but now it has shifted towards preparing students to be live entrepreneurs, which is more about skills, competency and mindset. Technology has made us realised that it is more important to connect with each child rather than just focus on teaching each subject. The session was concluded by a vote of thanks. Overall session was knowledgably and fruitful for students.
