Yoga offers numerous rewards that improve our health and secure us peace of mind. It improves our performance at workplace, has a positive impact on our personal relationships and helps us to maintain harmony with the surroundings in which we live. Yoga has something to offer to everyone, be it a hopeful child, an aspiring youth, a parent, or senior citizens.  International Day of Yoga falls on 21st June 2022. To be a part of this special day, CT College of Education organized online Yoga session for Healthy Mind, Body & Soul on June 21, 2022. All the faculty members as well as students participated in this camp with great enthusiasm. Mr. Anuj Kumawat was the resource person for the same. He exercised various breathing exercises. He conveyed that yoga is simple which everyone can do to improve their mental and physical health. There are two important practices in yoga which are asana and pranayama. Asana is a physical practice that is done with one’s body. Asana can be called complete when its duration lasts at least 30 secs. We actually gain energy through it and we connect with the air we breathe. Pranayama is a formal practice of controlling the breath. He taught the techniques to sync one’s attention with the breath and recognize it. Through these techniques, we can increase our oxygen levels and end up boosting our energy levels too. He gave advice to the students that when they feel stressed, take a deep breath and it cools off the mind.

Further, on the same day online webinar on Yoga for Wellness was organized for B.Ed. and M.Ed. students. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur was the key speaker.  She explained remedies for personal health problems to the participants with lot of patience. She also guided all the members with different Asans and explained their importance in orderly life. Moreover, she taught some important physical, mental and spiritual practices to the participants, which would help the participants in improving their health by increasing blood flow and boosting immunity. She also said that yoga isn’t a cure for health problems but it’s a way to prevent from having health problems. Whenever we plan to practice yoga, take safety precautions always. On the whole, it was a knowledgeable and fruitful event for all the participants.
